H. C. R. 13--"Naming the bridge that crosses Paint Creek
at mile post 83.7 on the West Virginia Turnpike the "Miller and
Brogan Memorial Bridge."
Whereas, On July 7, 1979, Bobby Lee Miller and Homer Ray
Brogan, two West Virginia Turnpike employees, were killed while
performing maintenance work on a bridge near the old Memorial
Tunnel; and
Whereas, To memorialize these two individuals who lost their
lives while in the service of the State, it is fitting to name
the bridge, upon which both lost their lives, in their honor;
therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the bridge that crosses Paint Creek at mile post 83.7
on the West Virginia Turnpike be named the "Miller and Brogan
Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates
forward a copy of this resolution to the families of Bobby Lee
Miller and Homer Ray Brogan, the Governor and the Secretary of
the Department of Transportation.
